Guitar Skill Building Gr 6/7/8

This course is designed for students with little or no experience with the guitar. Students will learn guitar techniques that include tuning, strumming, picking, power and barre chords. They will also learn how to read guitar tablature, basic chord theory, major and minor pentatonic scales and some extended techniques. In addition to learning several songs in various styles chosen by the instructor, students will also have the opportunity to suggest songs they wish to learn. The school provides guitars, tuners and music for this course.

Middle Skill Building courses are 42 hour classes intended to build students’ skills in specific curricular areas. They are not complete courses therefore do not cover the entire curriculum for a particular course/grade level.

To cover the cost of materials, there will be a $35 materials fee charged at the time of registration.
