This comprehensive course spans ten sessions, each lasting 3 hours, designed to equip participants with foundational knowledge and practical strategies in Trauma Informed Practice and Executive Functioning (EF). Ideal for inclusive settings, this course emphasizes the importance of understanding and supporting neurodiversity.

• Student Profiles & Neurodiversity: Learn to create detailed student profiles and embrace neurodiversity.
• Connecting with Students: Understand the significance of building strong connections with students.
• Trauma & the Brain: Explore how trauma affects the brain (neurobiopathy) and its impact on executive functioning.
• EF Strategies: Engage in a variety of games and activities to learn EF strategies, focusing on planning, organizing, task initiation, time management, metacognition, working memory, self-control, attention, flexibility, and perseverance.
• Practical Applications: Gain simple, practical EF strategies to support students in diverse academic and social/emotional contexts.
• Cultural Practices: Experience the use of an indigenous talking stick and circles to understand and participate in traditional rituals, enhancing group communication skills.
• Assessment & Project: Evaluate your understanding through short quizzes and complete a final project incorporating a trauma informed practice or EF strategy learned during the course.
