Fitness and Conditioning This course is designed for athletes who wish to develop fitness and skills specific to sport. Students will focus on a variety of advanced conditioning programs such as plyometric, power, speed, agility, quickness, strength, interval training, running, energy systems and weight training as they relate to their specific sport. Specific physical components of the course will include an emphasis on injury prevention. Special emphasis will be placed on developing individual programs that best meet the student’s needs, if students participate fully, are cooperative and consistently put in their best effort they will be assured of success in the course.
Fast Track courses follow a blended learning model; students must be available Monday through Friday:
- Tuesday / Thursday - students attend mandatory face-to-face classes (10 sessions)
- Monday / Wednesday / Friday - students must be available online during the same time as the in-person class, to complete online work which may include online assignments, independent work or tutorial time with the teacher.
- First in-person class: Thursday, July 2nd
- Last in-person class: Tuesday, August 4th
- All work to be completed by Wednesday, August 5th
